The NEPTUNE range of industrial discharge luminaires is sealed to IP65 protection and is
suitable for the more demanding industrial environment.
The gearbox is made from high temperature engineering grade plastic. The reflector is made of
high grade 99.8 aluminium which has been highly polished and oxidised. The toughened glass
reflector cover is sealed to provide IP65 rating. The luminaire has a galvanised geartray which
can be removed for maintenance purposes.
All luminaires are supplied with a power factor correction capacitor as standard. The ballast is
multi-tapped for 230V to 250V operation. Cable entry is through a single 20mm weatherproof
gland on the side of the gearbox. There is a top mounting chain ring for suspension mounting.
All luminaires in this range are designed to comply with BS 4533 Part 2 1969 Section 2.2. They

Dimensions
Applications
The NEPTUNE range of luminaires is suitable for most industrial environments where the mounting
height is greater than 7 metres above the working plane and water or moisture is present. Such
areas could be:
Swimming pools
Leisure centres
Football terraces
Sports stadiums
Industrial premises
Maintenance
For best results do not use abrasives or highly alkaline cleaners on the fittings. Do not use
squeegees, razor blades or other sharp instruments. Do not clean the diffuser in hot sun or elevated
temperatures.
To remove labels, stickers etc., from the diffuser the use of
kerosene, naphtha or white spirit is generally effective.
After cleaning a final warm wash should be made using a mild
soap solution and ending with a thorough rinse with cold water.
Wipe off surface moisture from metalwork.
Generally speaking, if the luminaires operate only in the hours of darkness, a re-lamping and
cleaning programme every 12 to 36 months is advisable depending on which type of lamp is used. It
must be noted that High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lamps should be replaced before cycling
occurs to prevent damage to the luminaire and control gear.
Standards
All luminaires in the NEPTUNE range are designed and manufactured in accordance with the
relevant sections of BS EN 60598. In addition, they comply with the requirements of European
Directive 89/336/EEC and carry the CE mark. Each and every fitting undergoes stringent testing in
excess of that required under the standard, to ensure that any possibility of luminaires arriving on
site in anything other than full working order is kept to an absolute minimum.
